Supervision for EFHD/EFPT (EFL/EFP) Practitioners

Supervision for Professionals working in  Human Equine Interactions

Supervision for Human Equine Interaction Practitioners

I offer 1:1 specialised supervision for practitioners that partner with horses as part of their therapeutic coaching, education and clinical practice in Equine Facilitated Human Development, Equine Facilitated Psychotraumatology, Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and other descriptors that fall under the historical umbrella term of Equine Therapy.

The work of Human Equine Interactions is a specialist field with unique experiences for the professionals as much as for those we serve and support. The challenges of managing a practice within a predominantly outdoor setting and with the physical (usually) daily responsibilites of caring for your horse(s) makes our profession both deeply fulfilling and often uniquely challenging. I offer supervision with an overview of all the domains of your practice.

Supervision is an important aspect of safe, professional and ethical service delivery. Supervision can support reflective and competent practice and also support personal development and practice/business growth.

Professional training and membership organisations require members to access regular supervision in the scope and application of their practice. You may be required to evidence this as part of your annual renewal. Check with your organisation(s) with regards to the frequency and duration of supervision expectations in line with best practice.

Supervision is not a replacement for regular/annual CPD or therapy but can be a good place to discuss effective next steps in your professional learning and training to sustain, develop and improve your professional services and equine knowledge, as well as addressing emergent personal need as it relates to your service delivery.

I have a broad, indepth knowledge and experience in the field of Human Equine Interactions. I have a deep passion for safe, inclusive and ethical practice leading to outstanding delivery which centres the horse and the client equally. I am passionate about your place within that system, your safety and long term emotional/psychological and physical wellbeing.

I am also equally passionate about understanding and supporting the experiences our horses are exposed to and the impact thereof.  I adopt a trauma-informed ethological approach to the long term well-being of all equines involved in our industry and am keen to support all those aspiring to create species appropriate, enriching, safe and nurturing settings for their horse(s).

I work with partner organisations to raise standards within the field of all Human Equine Interactions, including seeking and evidencing best-practice (human and equine) from different modalities, across a variety of applications, but particularly within clinical practice as adjunctive services. Therefore supervision with me will always be curious and seeking in it's nature as to how to uphold standards within the profession as a whole and what part in that you might play.

I am an accredited supervisor through the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists.

Individuals wishing to undertake supervision with me will be able to evidence their accredited/Ofqual Regulated qualification(s) specific to the field of Human Equine Interactions and will evidence that they have active, appropriate insurance and professional membership with a reputable industry related register/professional membership organisation.

Supervision is usually a long term professional relationship and one I look forward to investing in with you.
